The Soul Of Texas Boutique

My name is Ayanna Conley, the creator of The Soul of Texas Boutique. We started off as a nail business that has transitioned into a Western boutique! My love for Western culture started when I was a little girl. MeMe would take me to the Houston Rodeo as an annual tradition, and I was mesmerized by the variety of the vendors and showrooms that embodied Western fashion in a way that I've never seen before.

People would often call me a country girl since I am from Texas but having spent years in California and New York, I have also adopted to the city lifestyle. I guess that makes me a country-city chick!

My goal, as a business owner, is to use my platform to educate our society on the negative impacts of littering while encouraging people to save our planet and keep our earth clean.

Life is beautiful through the good and bad times, so if you don't learn anything else from me, know that whatever you're going through will pass.

Thanks & love y'all so much!

My name is Melanie C Berry, I am Ayanna's 70 year-old grandmother. So, it is an understatement to say that I am totally honored this 21 year-old asked me to partner with her in this awesome endeavor. I guess you can blame me for her love of Western wear because I brought her her first pair of boots and introduced her to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.

As a little girl I watched my mother make clothes for our family and others. So I started sewing at about the age of 10 making doll clothes. Then I made my own clothes all through middle and high school...even winning several school contests on the local and state level. After having my own family, I sewed for a little while but not as much anymore. I had a 20 year career in corporate America, then was self employed as a barber stylist for 25+ years. More recently, I was a bridal consultant and buyer.
